KJ6ER

Greg Mihran

Always-free portable antenna plans for the every-ham. Computer modeled, homebrewed, and field-tested.

My mission is to design efficient and effective portable antennas that integrate performance (high radiation efficiency), elegance (speed and simplicity of deployment), and convenience (ease of transport and storage). These designs are always shared for free with the global amateur radio community to encourage more operators to homebrew their own portable antennas.

Heroes & Beta Testers

Get more involved in the KJ6ER antenna community by becoming an esteemed Antenna Hero and/or official Beta Tester of future antenna designs!

KJ6ER Antenna Heroes

Demonstrate how you build and deploy your KJ6ER antennas. Send me a link to a video or a personal blog (portable or at your home QTH) and I'll feature it in an upcoming newsletter. I want to offer a global platform for the creative builders out there to share their tips and tricks with other hams.

KJ6ER Antenna Beta Testers

Want early access to new designs? Send me an email to become a beta tester! Beta testers receive draft PDFs ahead of release, build and deploy them, and summarize their experience on video. Your feedback helps me improve the PDF, the design, and the deployment process.

About KJ6ER

I have been licensed since 1987 and upgraded to Amateur Extra in 1991. I received my B.S. Electrical Engineering degree at Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland and worked in Silicon Valley technology companies for 45 years after graduation. I recently retired to design portable HF antennas and share them with the worldwide amateur radio community for free as my way of giving back to this hobby I love.

Always feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions and comments, I'd be happy to help. Keep having fun out there, 73!
